Dressage Fail: Lame FEI Grand Prix Dressage Horse Compilation

When you tell me that grand prix dressage riders are the best in the world and this is what is coming down centerline I not only judge them I judge you. By allowing grand prix dressage riders to have free reign and only be held accountable by "those who have done it" you end up with a complete and total failure of accountability in the sport of dressage.

This is not the first time we have called out dressage riders for taking lame horses down the centerline in the grand prix, you can watch Jill Irving finish the grand prix on DH, but it is the most that we have ever seen in one weekend.

You cannot watch this and tell me that not one single person that is part of any of these team did not stop for a single moment to say, maybe today is not your day to ride the grand prix dressage test. This is a complete and total dressage fail and is why we feature so many dressage disasters here at Dressage Hub.

This an absolute fail not only by what should be some of the top riders in the sport but the top vets, grooms and stewards that should be monitoring the warm-up ring.

*Note for Karen: I should not be able to make this video is the world's best dressage riders were in fact doing what they do well.

Tubman’s horse was lame in the walk and still awarded a 6.8… these judges should be embarrassed.

These high level riders spend hours on the backs of these horses, how can they not pick a lame step. I had a chronically lame horse, that ended up retiring, and I was an amateur rider and I could easily tell he was lame even though it was a subtle lameness.

It's like they have to prove to the world that their horse is indeed lame

This is, indeed, outrageous. There needs to be an investigation as to why this test was not stopped!

In this day and age we need to do better!

Front right, front right, hind left. The extended trot was the real tell-tale sign for the front lamenesses.

Why on earth are the judges not stopping the tests as soon as it's evident the horse is not level.

How the rider cannot feel the horse is unlevel just proves how out of sync they are with the horse.

These riders are atrocious - especially the first one! Sawing and yanking on the poor horse's face, and the weight the hag threw into the halt! Do these people bribe their way into Grand Prix??? They surely must...
Thanks for sharing - exposing these horrid creatures by name and evidence is the best thing we can do, as responsible horse people who actually care about our mount's welfare. Clearly these "riders" don't.

Rhythm is the first element of the training scale! Theses riders call themselves trainers? Can't feel the rhythm is irregular? Hmmm

With Tubbman it almost looks as if the horse injured himself during the test. That horse is SOOO tired.

Without the horse these riders would be nothing; they should be able to tell their horse is lame. These a horses are an extension of there bodies no excess do or this

You have no idea how much pharmacology these horses rely on to help keep them ' sound' dressage done right builds a horse up, not breaks it down.

What I fail to understand is how did these poor horses pass the jog up, aren't they required to pass the soundness test before the event like at Rover Kentucky 3 day, I thought every FEI event required a jog-up? I mean can't they feel that their horse is not alright, or worse yet to they not care.

Unbelievable! I can't understand why no one told them to stop and if that was me I would have jumped off! Not carried on riding!?!! 🙁

Horse abuse. Do these people know nothing!
The lameness was so clearly visible a child could pick it up.

Off topic somewhat, but I watched a podcast earlier today about ECVM in warmbloods and other breeds. It's a real concern.

Like I once had that my horse wasn't feeling great and thought he was lame. Luckily I got it on video and my feeling was right. Wonders why I can see it on video and zero comments on my test sheet bij the

You do the same taxing movements over and over (your entire life) and you will end up lame. Repetition, repetition, repetition. It honestly doesn't surprise me how often dressage horses break. Horses were not born to these things all the time, they're not machines. Dressage itself should be the smallest portion of ridden work, light and short. This keeps ligaments and muscle sound. The horse needs to be a complete athlete doing other things the majority of time. This variety, like out rides for example on different surfaces, what Americans call "trail riding" keeps them fit and toned and using muscles in a different way, even just at a walk but preferably all three paces. Collection all the time particularly on arena surfacing is especially damaging. Riders who are afraid of outrides should let others do it instead.

I have surely come to know, riders are NOT trainers!, a really good trainer is hard to find. There are lots of unseasoned people out there claiming to be experts...sad

Judges, vets and the riders must be disqualified for the rest of their lives. Than you'll never see poor lame horses again.
