My grandma did this to my mom and today they have a mom-daughter relationship. I don't think it's cool in any way for a MIL to do so to her son's partner. Why be petty when you can be nice? Thank goodness, my MIL has always been sweet to me and I pay her back by including her, calling, giving her updates and everything. She deserves it.

My thing is why would you marry, date, or still deal it if your Man's mother is like that??? If my Man's Mom was like that we would file for divorce. How his Mom feels about you says what he feels about you also. I'm thankful I didn't half to deal with this with my Man.

Thank goodness my MIL is not only kind and loving, but she's not a childish woman who feels she needs to compete with her son's love interest. This is not an uplifting story, its a pathetic story. No woman should bully another woman just to "test" her. Grow up and stop being stewards of patriarchy. And mothers who are obsesed with your sons and feel like you need to compete, grow up, stop the foolishness because its creepy and gross. Again, I feel blessed to have my MIL who has been nothing but kind and loving and welcoming, as she should be to anyone who loves her child.
