As a Liverpool fan.. let’s get real. Utd are bigger as a whole club. No question about it. It’s no problem. Every country has a club considered as the Royals. Utd here, Real, Munich, Juve, Ajax, Flamingo, River Plate, even Celtic for Scottish footy. It’s not worth trying to challenge it as a Liverpool fan, Utd and Liverpool for example with no CL football, Utd will attract the better player. It is what it is. Just so glad my beloved Liverpool can hold their own despite that. Even City, they win 100 PL’s, still Utd will be bigger than them.

United is the bigger club because usually when they say bigger I think they mean which club is successful plus which club has the biggest presence across the world in terms of fans etc. It is Man United. That is a fact.

Now if you are just saying which is the more successful club only. You take the fanbase component out of it then It has to be Liverpool. That is another fact. In terms of domestic success you can't separate them IMO. However in Europe Liverpool is quite ahead of Man United. They have more Champions League titles, more memorable moments, more finals. And champions League is the biggest tournament in club football. So there is your answer.
