It's only illegal, if you accept the baseless, unfounded, morally suspect, and illegal assertion that it is illegal. I do not respect any copyright law, nor anybody who attempts to enforce it. And I welcome Nintendo to attempt to sue me in court for emulating their games, because I can have it thrown out on standing. They must show that they were in some way harmed by the action I took. Let them blow 50 billion dollars a week on lawyer fees when I can get a paralegal to get their case thrown out for 50 bucks and a pizza party.

I don't personally pirate, but i have a list of companies that i consider it acceptable, regardless of your ability to pay, to pirate any game new or old that you want.
In short, the top 3 are nintendo, ubisoft, and maybe Activision.
And i don't consider pirating any indie or solo dev game ethical regardless.

Fast forward 50 years where these games have been forgotten by most but there are few who still enjoy them bc of emulators and such.
