Please prove me wrong in the comments. For starters, Ford lost 1.3 BILLION in Q1 on EV sales in 2024. Also, in case you didn't know, roughly 70% of electricity generation in the US comes from burning fossils fuels like coal and natural gas. Last, it would take DECADES to mine the amount of materials needed to electrify America's entire fleet which would then be financed by the tax payers of course!

Isn't that a 300 cubic inch inline 6 cyl engine? That will outlast 3 electric vehicles!

Manufacturers don't want cars being fixed, they want them being sold.

I miss the day when vehicles were simple and solid.
You had room to repair or modify. No computers or other stuff to fail. Wouldn't even have power windows until the 2000nds. I know a window handle and gears will work when I need it.

I'll take that truck over an EV any day

Co-worker bought a brand new Chevrolet 2500 diesel. Within 6 months he had catastrophic engine failure. It was luckily covered under warranty at a total cost of $35, 000.
Point being you priced a brand new battery for your analogy. I used brand new price for the gas version.
Batteries can be reconditioned. Gruber motors is a great channel to watch to learn more about it.
So point is when that EV truck is old and the battery fails you can rebuild it for a lot less than you are quoting.

I will have never purchased one. Any fool who pays 100k for a pickup deserves to buy a 30k battery.

I got a 94 ranger for $600 with a 2.3 and stick shift. I’d tell you how many times it’s paid for itself over but you wouldn’t believe me

Out of a newspaper when I was 15. I used to take those to the jiffy paint job $ 600. Sell them for three times what I paid for them. I had over a hundred thousand dollars by the time I was 17. I have quite a collection of old cars now.

I love the way that engine doesn't look. It doesn't look like hundreds of problems waiting to happen. And for the problems that happen I can resolve them myself easily and economically, excepting it throwing a rod.

My 10 year old f350 dually has 123, 000 miles and cost an average of $3, 000 a year repairs and maintenance and I can tow 25, 000 lbs easily. It will last to 400, 000 miles easily. Screw ev's.

Back in the early 1990s, a local old-timer who owned a body shop told me that we were fast approaching the days of the "disposable car". He told me they will be specifically built so that they're just not economically worth it to repair if you can repair them at all.
At the time I wasn't sure if I believed him or not. But one thing I can tell you that I didn't consider was that anything disposable would be as expensive as cars are getting.
