Honda Rebel 500 Test Ride/Review | Honda Rebel vs Kawasaki Eliminator | The best CRUISER of 2024?

Hey all. I had higher expectations for this bike, and I don't know why. I guess after riding both this and the eliminator 450, I can say this next sentence with confidence. If you're undecided between the two, you should go for the Eliminator 450. It's a more fun motorcycle and brings more joy than the Rebel 500. If you're just a die-hard Honda loyalist, or you prioritize efficiency over performance, then you should stick with the rebel. I hope you enjoyed this video!

Thanks so much for watching, I will see you in the next one!

Thank you for reviewing this bike!! I was between a ninja 400 and the rebel 500 for a first bike, but after watching this video, I guess it boils down to choosing either a cruiser or sportbike haha. The lawn mower exhaust comment made me smile!

Well well ! Looks like a good vid man. I bought a new 2023 Rebel 500 ABS SE in April of 23. I noticed some of the same feelings you had. I did follow the break in guidelines and at 600 miles I had Honda do the service. I ask for a full synthetic oil change. As I was leaving the dealership I noticed the engine performance change. The bike ran smoother and acceleration was a lot better. As the more miles I put the bike it just got better. I have no problem winding out all the gears on interstate on ramps. I did install a COFFMAN's shorty exhaust and that made a difference also. I left the DB killer installed.

"I 100% agree! I've got a 2023 SE, my first bike. Clocking in 6000 miles in 4 months, I have zero complaints. This bike has been a blast, perfect for fun cruises or as a beginner bike. I flipped my mirrors under the handlebars and added the Musurri exhaust for the 500cc.

The highway isn't too bad; the wind, especially crosswinds, poses the main challenge. Your video was great! Your detailed explanation resonated with my beginner experiences."

Omni Man really leaning into that cruiser lifestyle lately. I'm here for it tbh. Also glad you managed to get a new bike dealer for more reviews.

I love the stock exhaust--nice and quiet and civilized.

Love the vid. Third one of yours I’ve watched. I have a Honda lawnmower aaaannddd… it sounds just like that!
However, I will always love Hondas. I’ve had three Honda cars (2 accords and a type R civic) and I really want a Honda m’cycle now…
Great stuff. Cheers form Yorkshire, England. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ❤️🇺🇸

Thank you for this review. I'm looking at getting my first bike and im partial towards honda from driving cars. When I found out that the rebel is considered one of the best beginner bikes i was very intrigued. I'm short with short legs so the seat height was a huge plus for me as well. I'm sure i could probably get over the sound and the dash, because those were the only things that kind of turned me off during this.

It really sounds like it is just a pleasant all round Jack-of-all-trades. Seems like it would fit well if you can only have one bike to do a little of everything or you can afford two, one being 'bullet proof' and the other being 'fun'.

I recommend a mic system update. Your video is great. I love your personality and production. I think the audio upgrade would be a massive improvement.

...The Honda CB500F has a great display system, so very odd they didn't put it on the Rebel also.

hey, im a beginner looking for a first bike and was recommended this bike. However you mentioned the comfort for someone of a larger size, im 6'3 and 215. Do you think that this bike would be too awkward? and what else would you recommend

I sat on the Rebel 500 a few weeks ago, didn't ride it, was very comfortable and the low seat height was nice, I have received my learner permit but have no bike yet. I think I might just start out on the rebel 250 or some other low riding bike, I don't really like higher bikes.

Pretty sure there's a button that switches the gear display to a tachometer..
