Partagaz is one of the best written characters in this show, because he convays why the empire was in power for so long. He is smart enought to look behind the "by the books" BS and was focused on the real task. He is a great mentor to Dedra and a capable leader of his branche of the ISB.

I think this is singlehandedly the best Imperial scene in Star Wars. We can really see how the politics of the Empire works.

Blevin knows exactly how to report to Partagaz, unlike Grundy and Lagret. He doesn't attempt to mislead, downplay or hide his limitations, or avoid specifics hoping Partagaz won't probe further.

When Partagaz asks who is responsible for the incident on Ferrix, Blevin admits, up-front, that he does not know, but that he is about to leave for the planet to investigate, which satisfies Partagaz as he doesn't chew him out for having no info. Unlike Vader, Partagaz is not looking for unattainable perfection, he's just looking for direct communication and a clear focus on achieving success. He wants to see that you are competently working to solve problems and aren't wasting time trying to pretend they aren't there.

Partagaz is a very firm but very fair and effective boss. He just can't stand laziness or bullshit. I love it.

You can literally feel her nervousness, apprehension and weariness while she is walking towards the ISB headquarters…just another day at work…but not…quite. You get all that just from the opening scene. The way it is shot, the effective use of special effects and Dedra’s body language and facial expressions. All this speaks to the quality of this show, the directing, writing, acting, production values etc. They literally took a staff meeting and made it more interesting and captivating than most of the subpar, mediocre sludge masquerading as SW content over the past decade…

His verbiage is terrifying. Reminds me of The Combine from the Half-life franchise, they use medical terminology to refer to rebellious activity as well. In a sense though, he is absolutely correct

It feels like a real successor to the original Tarkin "senate is abolished" scene from Star Wars. Very efficient, everyone seems to know what they're talking about, high standards, actually respectable even though they're supposed to be the bad guys. It's good management lore. Also you can imagine Partagaz performing his job well in both the old Republic era and the new Republic era. It's respectable.

So insane that the first hint for the Death Star was dropped by Lonni, the unsung hero of the Rebellion

1:53 Season 1: "We are healthcare providers. We treat sickness. We identify symptoms. We locate germs whether they arise from within or have come from the outside. The longer we wait to identify a disorder, the harder it is to treat the disease."

Season 2: "She's diseased. She escaped the hospital with an infectious condition that threatens everyone with whom she may come in contact. She must be found before thousands die."

The dialogue from this scene alone is so FREAKING AWSOME. Its such a breath of fresh air from the stereotypical villains of the ST and every other Disney SW product. This scene feels like it was written by adults and people that respect their audience. Partagaz's actor is absolutely terrifying in his role. You get the impression that this man is your boss and you don't want to fail him even once. Dedra Meero's actress does an amazing job with portraying an eager and ambitious yet young and inexperienced Imperial officer. Also credit to the other actors playing the ISB officers. The ISB scenes are EASILY some of the best parts of the show. I could watch these scenes for hours and not get bored.

Partagaz refers to Rebel incursions as "a disease, " which is exactly how Maarva Andor describes the Empire. The words of these elder statesmen embolden the fight on both sides.

I love how Blevin talks about the accident in Ferrix very calmly and without stress about the situation. "not too much of a problem, some casualties, some property damage", but as the empire does, he uses this incident as an excuse to tighten the grip on the Morlani system and strip them of the independence they had, saying to them "you guys REALLY screwed the pooch on this one! this was a monumental disaster and thank goodness I am here to clean up your mess!!!"

I love how many local unknown actors are in this show

love the set ... like a massive big stage; and ALL of the performers are clearly very comfortable being on a stage. As a show, this has by far the best acting Star Wars has seen, across the board

It's darkly poetic that Partagaz refers to the ISB as healthcare providers to a room of supervisors all wearing white imperial uniforms, in a sterile white room, in a building that looks like it could almost be a university medical center. To quote a line from rather INTERESTING movie:

"The world is sick, and we are the doctors."

A line I'm sure Partagaz would agree with.

Really love the depiction of the imperial security apparatus as a boring bureaucracy. It speaks to the truth of oppressive regimes like the Empire - evil is banal. Swap around a few specific details and a conversation like that wouldn't be out of place in a corporate or academic environment, yet they ARE evil.

This is what most of the Disney Star Wars movie creators were scared of. But it's exactly what we needed. Including the senate chamber scenes ohhhh yaaa

ANDOR best political show I’ve seen since GoT (seasons 1-4). Amazing work done by the writers.

As someone who loves history and HBO level writing, this scene was on par with Conspiracy, depicting the Wannsee conference.
Not to mention these scenes showed a rare breed of Imperial officers; those that were actually competent at their jobs and knew what they were doing.

This was the scene where I really understood what a treat we were in for. No cliche writing, no “evil scheming”, just an unfiltered view of what this would look like.
