Another video from the vault! From the summer of 2016. Different angle of Johnny and I departing Flat, Alaska after dropping off a load of freight for a customer.

This brings back good memories. Having currently been left seat in the RJ racking those precious turbine PIC hours I often look back to the times Johnny mentored me. The DC-3 was my very first REAL flying job and boy oh boy did he take me under his wing. The man was a hero, a father figure, a captain and a damn good friend. God rest his soul... We miss you, Johnny.

Seems like one happy crew! Excellent video angle, too!

Hi Alex,
My grandfather and hishalf brother mined a claim outside of Flat, AK but had a cabin in the town. My grandpa came back to Iowa about 1915 and not longer after the half brother supposedly took a new partner and then was allegedly murdered (according to letters from a rooming house owner and an attorney from Flat).
I would love to know what brought you in a -3 to Metro Flat and your impressions of the town and nu, ber of homes you observed that appeared to be occupied. Thanks so much!!!
