Prof Upendra Baxi is a renowned academic and jurist. His teaching career includes Sydney Law School and University of Delhi. He was the Professor of Law at Delhi University for 23 years and later its Vice Chancellor and of University of South Gujrat, Surat. He had also been Director (research) at the Indian Law Institute, Delhi and the President of Indian Society of International Law. He is credited with high quality sociological research in Indian Law by the Indian Council of Social Science Research and the University Grants Commission. He has authored several books and scholarly articles. He has numerous honors and awards to his credit including the Padma Shri in 2011.
Knowledge of the Constitution of India is inseparably linked to law making, governance, administration, human rights, political processes, corporate management, policy formulation, trade and commerce.
