Yoink means to suddenly withdraw, not stop something from happening. In that sense, your chance to get that shot might be yoinked away, much as an unfunny comedian off the stage with a long pole in a Looney Tunes cartoon (while people are yeeting rotten fruits and vegetables at him). Or like the good Lord yeets us into the world and then yoinks us away from it again.
But it's entirely possible that the word originated as something a bit different - the above is, however, definitely how it's used now.
