I love the shots of restless youth in the pre-cell phone/social media days of the 70s.

Truly, this is one of the greatest rock songs of my lifetime. It sounds as good today as it did the day I bought the 45. An extraordinary gift from David Bowie to Mott the Hoople, but boy did they make it their own.

You can hear so much T Rex influence here. Vocal groupings and chords. What a classic.

Bowie was such a generous genius, giving this song away from his musical treasure chest allready filled to the brink with gems

This wonderful song makes me remember when rock bands were the coolest things that existed, well, maybe that is because I grew up in the 70's.. where are those years now?

One of those songs that stops your breath the first time you hear it and immediately displaces your current favourite song of the moment. Then trying to explain to the guy at the record store that the name of the band is not Martha Hoople and it has to be available because you are hearing it in regular rotation on the underground FM radio station. Then watching the guy ahead of you grab the only copy of the album from the new release shipment of records and having to settle for the debut album by some band named Queen.

All of you."

Timeless. So glad I lived it

Fast cars, chopper motorcycles and the greatest music! The weed was a little weak though. All those young dudes and me are old now.

"Well, my brother's back at home with his Beatles and his Stones..". My brother, my late brother: I remember going to see The Beatles live with him on their last tour (1966). 26 years later, he met both David Bowie and Keith Richards (not at the same time). He spent an evening in the studio with David while he was making the 'Black Tie, White Noise' album; and he would end up spending the night together at Keith Richards' house numerous times. If I remember correctly, Ian Hunter, lives next door. My next door neighbor when I was a young dude would later go to work for Peter Frampton, who was one of Bowie's earliest childhood friends. And he once met Paul McCartney. And If I remember correctly, I was with him the first time I heard 'All The Young Dudes'. And to think that my brother spent a large part of the 90s and the early 2000s at Keith Richards, and neither one of us was aware, until years later, that Ian Hunter was right next door. Whoa!

Ah the 70s, the hair, the Oxford Bag trousers, high waists, higher platform shoes, wonderful music. Where did it all go?
