My 100th YouTube video! 🎉Here's footage of me flying a holding pattern around a waypoint prior to flying the 35R RNAV approach at Moorabbin Airport.

I explain what a holding pattern is and show footage of how I fly one using the autopilot in the Cirrus SR20.

VERY IMPORTANT: I am a private pilot and am NOT qualified to give flying instruction. This video, like all videos on this channel, has been significantly edited from the original source footage and is provided for entertainment purposes only. Many radio calls and procedures have been omitted. If you have any questions about anything you see or hear, please speak to a Certified Flying Instructor first.

Filmed on a Canon EOSM6, various GoPros, and sometimes my iPhone. Audio usually from Epidemic Sound.

I remember when flying in the two engine SAAB airline from Albury to Sydney we had to circle around just before the Blue Mountains which was a sight to be seen of the sheer cliff walls of Kanangra.
very beautiful to see. This was all just before we got into Sydney airport a few years ago.

Happy memories of my visit to Sydney a few years ago. Where you were for the intro was were my wife and I had a picnic before doing the bridge climb. And congrats on 100 videos, always interesting, especially to a frustrated armchair pilot.

100, Great work. From what i understand there are 3 types of entries into a holding pattern. DIRECT, PARALLEL, TEARDROP. Used to go fishing many years ago off the wharf's where you made this video, great location. Another interesting place just a short walk away is Sydney Observatory. Thanks Stef.

Congratulations on your 100th video. Great work.

Loving the IFR VLOGs. Although not instructional it is a glimpse into the IFR realm which is still helpful for people like me.

You can read and read but these insights help.

Really like this kind of vlog commentary with like flying clips in between! I know it's probably more editing, but I'd really enjoy seeing some more :D

Only found this channel a couple weeks ago and turned on my notifications too see if I liked it. Spoiler alert I love it. The fantastic vlog style combined with the aviation theme has made this one of my favourite channels and I enjoy seeing the notification pop up to say a new video is out. Keep up the great work 👍

Congratulation Stef on video tally and increasing subscribers (I am still lagging far behind on that score! 🤔) As I have said before, great Channel mix and I did like I the visual aids, both in the dirt and on the screen!

Congrats on 100 videos! Love the content, really helps satisfy my inner aviation nerd.

Just a general question: as someone who isn't a pilot but enjoys learning about this stuff, I'm curious if you ever have serious trouble understanding what ATC is communicating (because of poor radio signal or out of necessity they're speaking really fast) and how you cope with it?
