I read about people choosing one word resolutions. Instead of a very specific goal that they can fail to upkeep and loose hope of quickly, it becomes about a general lifestyle change that is based on the idea of continual improvement over the next year.

Leaving a comment on a ~5y old video, wanting to let Kyle know how awesome he is.. Chances of him seeing this however are slim. I found Kyle a while ago and just love his energy and interest in these nerdy things he's doing. Heck, I wish I had a fraction of his discipline to actually do what I want with my life in general. I've been struggling with deciding what to study but all I know is I'm a people person and I like teaching. This thing Kyle does really puts me in the mood every time I see him. I just wanted to thank Kyle from the bottom of my heart and let anyone who reads this comment know that I've made up my mind about what to study. Have a very nice day, reader! And thanks Kyle, for sharing your awesomeness. I'll see you in the next BecauseScience video. ♥

i think the best resolution is to aspire to be more organized because if your efficient at home and work you can have a better chance to succeed in whatever your muse is.

fun fact, based on the cycles of metabolism and the way we process food at various times of the year, january is about the worst possible time to try to lose weight if you live in the northern hemisphere. rather than setting a specific weight loss goal, you should make a resolution to build more healthy habits that will pay off for you in the long run

I loved that Nerd Fitness slogan reference at the end, "...keep leveling up your life." That's from the community over at nerdfitness.com for anyone who is interested.

Diets sometimes work...into they don't. I find making lifestyle changes work a whole lot better than dieting. I lost 100lbs at age 20 and have kept it off (mostly) even many years later.

So if it's being shown that rewarding success is better than punishing failure.... Does this tie into Classical Conditioning and the differences between positive and negative rewards and punishments?  Is it better to only _sometimes_ reward yourself and to sometimes punish yourself, but not in a pattern?

I think the part where you stated that there is a lot less animal is wrong. Truly, if you think about it humans beings eat 2x or more meat than any ancient civilization.
