Norman Smith (February 22, 1923 - March 3, 2008) began his music career as a jazz musician. He joined EMI as a sound engineer in 1959. Norman engineered all of the EMI studio recordings by The Beatles until 1965; the last Beatles' album he recorded was Rubber Soul. Norman then began working with Pink Floyd as a producer in 1967; he produced The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, A Saucerful Of Secrets, and Ummagumma. In 1971 Norman began his own recording career and adopted the stage name of Hurricane Smith. He had a Cash Box No.1 single in 1972 with "Oh Babe What Would You Say". Other hits included "Who Was It", and "Don't Let It Die" which reached No. 2 on the U.K. singles chart in 1971.

Why don't Friends of the Earth, the Green Party, and similar organisations adopt this lovely song as their anthem, and get it reissued?
Surely, now is the time!

What a difference! From the longer intro. throughout the cleaned-up string section and the dynamic stereo sound compared to the slushy fake stereo from mono we had to put up with here in the US.

LOVE the song and love the theme. Much like Paul McCartney, he was an animal lover. R.I.P., bro.
