I think you're assessment was fair. I always felt he could be the QB, but was having serious doubts. Even this year there were times I thought he was playing his best, but his best wasn't good enough for another contract, unless he was gonna come at a bargain. But I always liked him, and rooted for him.

I hated the pick when he was drafted. I was having Duke QB flashbacks and wanted Haskins if they were going to pick a qb. He won me over his rookie preseason and then put up good numbers when he took over for Eli but needed to clean up the turnovers.

Bad coaching, O-Line, and weapons really killed him, but he still kept them competitive in the Judge years. What really sold me on Jones was how bad they looked with him out with injuries.

Daboll and Kafka have played to his strengths, and the O-Line has gotten closer to average as they have gelled in the last quarter of the season. Outside of agility, he seems to have every physical tool and is a smart dude on top of it all.

IMO, the #1 thing that has transformed Jones (besides Thomas) is his pocket-presence. Where he used to just wait and inevitably get sacked or make a bad decision w/ the ball, he now, just takes off whenever he senses pressure.. defenses are struggling to keep up w/ him now... nice :)

I did not want the Giants to draft D.Jones or any other QB, but after the preseason and Tampa game, I knew he was the one. Did He disappoint me along the way? Yes He did, but I still knew He was the one.
