Im glad hes on the eagles but I've been saying this for a while. Running backs have been devalued and they shouldn't have been. I get why they were but my reasons for why they shouldn't have been are valid. That's the only position on the offense where they're asked to see 250+ lb men and go towards them and either make them miss or get tackled, they're the least protected in terms of penalties, they're asked to be apart of the receiving game and they're asked to block lineman and linebackers and they have to do their main job which is run the ball into piles of huge men. Outside of QB they do the most on a football team.

The better skill players will try to make it as other positions like WR. So you will less and less great RBs. All those amazing skill players will be WRs. RBs are so devalued now because of the beatings they take. And all the rule changes over the years that heavily favor the passing game.

The Saquon story is about the absurd NFL system of paying their players. Very few teams get it right. I think the unbalance and unfairness began with the Players Association when they were instrumental in making the rules for compensation.
