Super Mario Odyssey: All Mario's Death Animations

Did you know Mario has multiple death animations in Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch? This video will show the many ways Mario can die. I will in the future make a video of course "The Many ways to Die in Super Mario Odyssey" but in this video I just wanted to focus on the different animations in the game such as getting hurt, drowning, falling off a cliff, sinking in sand, crushed, frozen and so on.

They really toned the drowning death animation, and the pool in New Donk City is no longer deep enough for Mario to drown in in front of people while the classical Super Mario World athletic theme is playing. Thanks a lot, Polygon!

His death animation is basically a shocked animation and then falls down to void, except quicksand drowning, squished, frozen, falling, and other specific deaths

I like how they still have the same low health alert sound from Super Mario Galaxy

I see they went for the more classic styled Mario death(falling off the screen) rather then that realistic approach Mario 64 did. Not sure which one I prefer though I can see why they changed it since some of Mario’s deaths where disturbing in 64.

The quicksand death is really dark. He literally suffocates and reaches for air
