I treat myself this way because I need myself. Nobody has my back while I'm down, all I've got is me. If I don't got my own back, where will I be? where will I go? Would I even be alive? I need me to cooperate.

Thank you 🩷 This really spoke to me today!! I’m an inpatient psych nurse. I had seen somewhere, possibly here, that it’s a good idea to put a pic of you when you were little somewhere you can see it a few times at least per day and writing some good adjectives or affirmations to put up with it to remind yourself to be as kind as you can to yourself ❤️ and that when you’re being cruel and critical to yourself you are also criticizing your inner child who just wants love and acceptance 🤗

Once you’re tired of learning, and learning more, and even more about yourself/issues/etc - and you find yourself in that spot built up and almost erupting with frustration between “oh, no but what if” and “f*^# this I need this done for own wellness” - Julien is the one that nudges you over that difficult tipping point ❤🎉

You can feel uncomfortable and still act on it. You’ve got this 💪

I once read something related to this that hit me pretty much. I too was often told I‘m lazy and I‘m really bad at getting stuff done (or rather start them in the first place) and am basically in a constant state of guilt and self blame.

What I read was something like: „you‘re not just „lazy“ if you‘re feeling bad about not getting things done. Lazy people don‘t feel bad about doing nothing“ (well something like that, can’t quite recall the exact phrasing)

We’re often harshest on ourselves a la “our own worst critic.” If we showed callousness or inhumanity towards others, we’d have no choice but to disguise/hide/mask it bc otherwise other people outside of us would take notice and exact consequences on us or it would be blatantly obvious how against our society’s ideals or against how society and its people ought to be towards one another so in the end the majority of us know better and often have an intrinsic locus of sympathy/empathy (built up through growing up w/ a good enough combo of community, fam, role models and/or serviceable genetics to allow us to lead neurotypical enough lives and build neurotypical enough character & sense of self) that we extend to other people in our society, commune, country, or family or w/e unit…

…and YET, why is it often difficult for us to extend that same degree of compassion and acceptance to ourselves?

I love your shorts, thank you. I’m learning about this subject more and more everyday but this lady is describing ADHD symptoms in late diagnosed women. Worth exploring 🙏

HEEEELLLLyYEA!!! Finally the truth comes out. F-I-N-N-A-L-L-Y. I’ve been trying to break that generation curse with the raising of my son. With the right way of communication.
