God I wish I could go back for just for one day . To sit on the floor with a big bowl of Sugar Smacks in front of the TV on a Saturday morning watching Shazam

God I miss watching these as a child. After all the Saturday morning shows were over it was off on my bicycle playing all day long. Nothing was better than a Saturday in the 70s.

I still remember that Shazam and Captain Marvel used to be one thing. Unfortunately today, young people do not know the true shape of the heroes of today's films. A lot is getting lost over time.

How can anyone, not miss, the 1970’s?

I never noticed but both Billy and Mentor have the exact same intro - run to camera, look left, run right.

Filmation had the most epic opening themes on Saturday morning TV!

Yeah. I'm old enough to have eagerly watched this as a first-run series. Loved it, though!

It was cool seeing Michael Gray cameo in Shazam 2. He even called him Captain Marvel

My Uncle worked on this show...and I Just found some old 8mm film that he took on the set, about 15 seconds of some of the filming of Shazam! I will have to see about adding it here!

Jackson Bostwick used to be a neighbor of mine in Santa Monica, back in the late 70's...!

Because of this show, I started to collect World's Finest comics not because of the Superman/Batman teamup story, but because of the Shazam! feature.

Jackson Bostwick was a theater professor at Auburn University at Montgomery [Montgomery, Alabama] in the late 1980s. I was lucky enough to get to know him.

Right on good times when I think about this show Growing Up In The Groovy 70s. Of course did anyone here remember when it was Shazam-Isis hour. I have both series on DVD of course the one Shazam is a Warner's Archives Edition which means it's burned on demand that's the only way you can buy it. The picture and the audio are really good it's not going to you know blow you away quality-wise. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a hoot watching those episodes again as an adult..

This was the last cartoon played on Saturdays morning. After that was American Bandstand at noon, then Soul Train at 1pm.

Don't get me started on tv schedules! 😂
