Thank you for showing us Mwanza. Where did the lady from Egypt go?
1. In 1978, I was traveling from Dodoma to work at Kyerwa Tin Project in Karagwe and I spent 2 nights at Deluxe Hotel (it was not easy to make arrangements to buy petrol for our Land Rover). Recently I was delighted to hear that Deluxe is still there.
2. I am surprised that you had to spend two days to reach Mwanza.
In 1985 I traveled from Dodoma to Kabanga (near the Tanzania/Burundi border) to meet my dad who was coming from Burundi. On my way back I thought that I was getting a comfortable ride in the cabin of a truck/lorry, but later on the driver picked up a passanger lady and I had to sit on the top of bags of charcoal. We arrived at Businde? crossing after the working hours of the pontoon/vessel used to cross and we had to spend the night on that lorry with no warm blanket. The charcoal dust made me sick for a few weeks.
