The family of Erik and Lyle Menendez, the brothers in prison for killing their parents, will advocate for the brothers' release from prison during a news conference on Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles.

It comes as prosecutors review new evidence to determine whether the pair, who were the subject of a new Netflix show, should be serving life sentences.

Erik Menendez, now 53, and his 56-year-old brother, Lyle Menendez, are currently in state prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of killing their parents in their Beverly Hills mansion more than 35 years ago.

Such a shame that the judge was so clearly biased & simply wanted a conviction the 2nd trial. It's not supposed to be about that. It should be about justice.

Set them free. 34 years is enough.

FREE THEM!! There's no point in more prison time. You also have to give them justice for all the abuse and sexual abuse and the fact that they defended themselves from their father's threats to kill them. They knew their father having been a rich man was capable of doing such a thing, and not getting caught.

It’s clear LA County is ass backwards, first by acquitting OJ, then sentencing Lyle and Eric Menendez to life. Smh

Hope they never get realised, all this abuse claim is false. Family members are saying this so they can get hold of their money.

The Menendez murders were brutal; 45-year-old José and 47-year-old Kitty were not so much killed as rendered nearly unidentifiable by 15 rounds from two 12-gauge shotguns. It was so barbaric that police thought the killings were a mob hit, and early investigations focused on business rivals and a porn executive who had a bone to pick with José.

In the months that followed the slayings, neither Menendez brother acted like young men who had recently found both of their parents dead in a brutal, bloody murder scene. Instead, they acted like two guys who had just won the lottery. José was worth $14 million at the time of his death, and within six months, the brothers spent an estimated $700, 000 of his fortune.
Lyle, who was 21 at the time of the murders, purchased a Rolex, a Porsche, lots of clothing, and a restaurant back in Princeton, where he had been living before the murders. Erik was more practical, opting for a Jeep Wrangler, a $50, 000 personal tennis coach, and a $40, 000 investment in a rock concert that never happened. They took exotic vacations, too, thinking they had even more money coming to them. There was also a $5 million life insurance policy on their father, though technicalities stopped them from collecting.

So if they can be released then I guess other murders and child molesters can just go free. Stop the world I wanna get of just because your loaded doesn't mean you get a free pass if I'd of done this would have been forgotten about in months. Just shocking they have no empathy that's scary maybe they will come out and lead normal lives BUT could always reoffend then the bloods on the judges hands

I don’t understand why everyone say free them what about life without parole don’t you all understand, these boys are two rich kids that killed their parents and they deserve to stay in prison for life, if they release them, others should be released also. Life is just that LIFE, keep them locked up.
