The most surprising thing I’ve learned/realized about my new cottage garden is that I underestimated how successfully the plants would adapt and get established.
They have matured much faster than I expected, much to my delight. Now I find I must edit out some things, relocate some plants as is always the case when you are developing garden. Now, how do I garden, and try to find ways I can make it even more beautiful, more personal to my gardening style, and more easy to garden within. Please enjoy this garden stroll with me. #gardendesign #gardensurprises #gardenstyle

I think the back is more restful on your eyes. All the sitting feels relaxing and inviting.... compared to the front that is so full and busy. Hope this answers your question of the day

Looks fab. Do you fertilize the verbena? I planted purple verbena, and it isn't doing much. I gave it starter fertilizer when I planted in Spring.
My veg is doing great, lots of tomato, cucumbers etc.

I am a bit envious of your 6 week sabbatical. I am so burnt out that I can’t begin to explain how much. I have been working paid jobs for 46 years. The past 6-7 years, I have been working 60-80 hours a week with so little vacation that I stop accruing many times because I hit the max. I am salary too, so no overtime pay. I never had children so I never got maternity leave. About 7 months ago, I learned about a benefit that Australians get and it sure sounds great to be Australian. I just wish we had a policy like this here. It seems a lot fairer than other policies where only certain situations get leave. Australia’s long service leave is in addition to normal paid time off and holidays. “Long service leave is a period of time that you can take off work, with pay. You'll be eligible for 13 weeks' paid leave after 10 years continuous service with your current employer. You will then continue to accrue long service leave at the rate of 1.3 weeks' leave for each subsequent year of service after that.”😮
