I cannot imagine these lovely chateaus being lost forever. So I am very pleased people like yourselves are dedicated to restoring and bringing back the grandeur of such amazing buildings. Top that with sharing so much of yourselves with the public. Huge Kudos!

Dan, you have always been my favourite ‘living in France’ vlogger, for your work ethic, humour, family mindedness, sincerity and lack of pretension, amongst many other qualities. I’m now remembering you gave us a hint of this ages ago. It looked like a huge project then. It looks like huge project now. But if anyone can do it, you can. I look forward to future videos. I’m sure they will be fascinating and, as ever, beautifully filmed.

Remember this video? Everybody was saying it can't be done. You'll need at least 20 men for this. Two years later and every floor is in and the roof is almost done. Amazing achievement.

It is a privilege to be able to accompany you on your journey since you started and Stephanie announced that you had a YouTube channel. This is great, super great news. Congratulations, dear Dan. Every time a person progresses, we all do it in some way. It is absolutely wonderful. Tons of congratulations! Enthusiasm is something contagious, a good virus that fills us with life and without a doubt, both you and Stephanie are capable of spreading it. Thank you from my heart. Heap, heap, Hurrah!!! 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

Hi Dan, Wow congratulations on buying, currently, half of this magnificent Chateau with, despite the damage, which you will restore to its former glory and not least the forest and grounds. My goodness Dan what a huge project but your love for this Chateau shines out from you in every detail you showed us with such awe and appreciation in your voice. I was thrilled to see photos of the Chateau as it was before the devastating fire and how heartening it is to know it was used to hide and care for children who escaped the holocaust. I hope you will be given grants from the French government and heritage associations with your restoration costs. I am beyong excited for you and your family. I wish you great good fortune. I can't wait to follow your progress and to learn more of the Chateau history. Xxx🤗

I love how Mother Nature is always there to gently remind us…”I was here before you, and I will be here long after you are gone.”

The shell is stunning. The history accessible. The restoration will be phenomenal. What a dream come true.

Dan, I am thrilled for you! If anyone can pull this off, it's you. No doubt you'll be getting some help as time passes. If I was younger and lived close to you, I'd be there to help! You deserve this gem! I am so looking forward to seeing the progress....I know it will be a gem in the making!

I watch this EVERY DAY! I can’t believe how much has been accomplished in the past year. Watching this early video was mind blowing when comparing to the present day ( May 2024) status. Great work!!

Your reverence for the architecture of the past, and your joy in these projects is wonderful to watch. Thanks for Billy for mentioning your blogs again, subscribed this time.

The forest is as impressive as the shell of the magnificent Chateau!
Just goes to show us that the builders of days past knew how to build things to last. The exterior is beautiful even in this state.
I'm glad Billy plugged this video and even linked it! Sundays are going to very exciting for the next few yrs💜

I know I’ve watched this video a few times, but today (May 26, 2024) as you worked on putting in the final steels into the Chateau, it was a tremendous reminder that in Sept. of 2022, not that long ago, you published the first of many videos of the journey that’s taken you to where you are today, and how much has been accomplished in such a short period of time. You’re an amazing, and determined individual Dan!!
Can’t wait to see what you achieve over the next year.

Truly a man that loves structures, as you see him caressing the features. Amazing, good luck Dan. She's a stunner and I can't wait to see the restoration as I also am a structure junky. Best to you and what a fantastic find xx

I'm just so happy, that the plan is to restore it back to its original beauty and details. Too many of the people, that restore old
places, tend to modernize and make it look like a newbuild on the inside. This is a huge project, no doubt about it. I wish you lots of luck, and I hope you will make it, so that Miss Coco Chanel herself would feel at home 🙂 YUP, I'm on hooked, Dan! See you Sunday!! 😁

Wow! What a project and a place for you and the boys to enjoy in years to come.

I have a feeling there will be a need for you to have a number of volunteers over the years to really help make a dent on the clearing the needs to happen.

A roof, windows and doors will obviously be the priority.

Time for everyone to watch the adverts all the way through to help fund this.

It was also great for Billy Petherick to encourage some of his viewers to support you.

Great work Dan and good luck

This chateau may look hopeless to most people, but not to Dan the Man. You have been showing us your countless skills over the past year or so, and your ingenuity to get things done is unsurpassed. Being unconventional has paid off big for you, so why not tackle a dream like this one if the stone structure is solid? Yet another twist in the path that we so enjoy sharing with you!👏🏻👍🏻❣️Congrats🎉🍾

I remember you showing us this chateau when you first started the channel. I’m so delighted that you’ve bought it, even though I think you are utterly bonkers for attempting it! We’ll definitely be watching your escapades
