Fun fact, this was completely unscripted. In the script actor Bryan Cranston is just supposed to walk away from the car. Instead he blew the car up with actor RJ Mitte still inside. Vince liked this scene so much taht he kept it for the final cut of Breaking Bad. Bravo Vince

The editing is so good that I literally thought Walt killed his kid for about a day, especially the parking lot announcement at the start with him looking out the window is so about-to-die-ish 😂

Fun fact: Jr. actually survived and just needed a revive from Walt, since he'd have no one to flex his new car to in season 5. Truly one of the heartwarming of all time.

I never understood how Walt could be so calm as he watches his first born son get blown up to smithereens. That was the power of Heisenberg. He was able to detach and do what was right for the family at ANY cost, without remorse. In this case, setting fire to his teenage son's car while he was inside and then watching it all happen with a big-ass grin on his face. Classic Heisenberg.

I remember this episode! They brought Walt jr back in later episodes but those turned out to be dream sequences. I couldn’t believe that the writers thought so low of their audience that they assumed we’d forget Walt killed jr like a bag of bad weed.

This was actually all an accident. They were cooking meth when "junior" "walked" into set and they had to make a whole excuse for it. So they told them it was a show they were making and it ended up backfiring for it became famous. Then they had to end "junior" but the directors said the scene looked to good so they kept it in
