Lighting Circuits Switch wiring Wiring at the switch

Hi .In this video explains the 3 systems of lighting circuits used in the UK . I concentrated on particular one where all cables are connected at the switch . It's much more convenient if you prefer to install spotlights instead of ceiling rose with bulb. Hope it helps with your home projects. Thanks for watching.

Not many electrition explain them selfs properly but you do thanx. I'm running cable for spots, under cupboard lights and two ceiling rose lights all in the kitchen I like your way of connecting the power straight to the spots but because I'm doing cupboard lights and ceiling rose I got confused so I'm using junction boxes for spots and cupboard lights onto ring . Good video .

I think it's important to wire an electrical circuit in a manner that is easy to maintain and access so when designing and installing this should be taken into account. There is no need to install junction boxes when not necessary so in domestic I would prefer to see the first method (loop in and out). Good clear explanation in this video.

Easy to do with stud walls and plasterboard, bloody nightmare if you have cieling roses and wish to rewire to have all looped the switch...Chases will have to accomodate a minimum of 3 twin and earth cables, Add 2 or 3 way switching in the mix and maybe independant light control for double dimmers and you now have 5/6 cables to accomodate, in suitable conduit or capping... only worth considering if your doing a full renovation to be honest. Out of curiosity, do all new builds wired now adopt this method? Thanks

Just loop the line conductors through the top of the switch instead of extra connections in the wago
