|| ABOUT ||
Today, getting what you need is as easy as a trip to the store. From food to clothing, energy, medicine, and so much more, Andy George will discover what it takes to make everything from scratch. His mission is to understand the complex processes of manufacturing that is often taken for granted and do it all himself. Each week he’s traveling the world to bypass the modern supply chain in order to harvest raw materials straight from the source. Along the way, he’s answering the questions you never thought to ask.

This was hugely excellent. Not only to make a pair of glasses, but the evolution of knowledge of the creation of the thing. Science channel, etc... I would patreon this channel.

I'm not much of a reader, but this book seems extremely interesting. After watching this video I went straight to Amazon and bought it. Can not wait to read it!

We rarely think how huge thing glass has been. In fact, probably one of the biggest reasons why more advanced China fell behind Mediterranean countries in technology is, that they perfected ceramic cups and didn't have the need to get into glass until much later, whereas in Europe glass led to those scientific and technical breakthroughs you described. Discovering Jupiter's moons was probably the biggest thing that broke European science away from the dominating church, by clearly demonstrating that the church didn't know the true nature of the Universe.

There are few videos of making concrete on youtube. I would like to see your take on small scale concrete production.

This reminds me of the glasses that I bought through Civil Eyewear. So good and affordable.

I always question myself how many people you would need to keep a society like we have running. With internet and smartphones etc.

You've had a lot of issues with the glass, maybe it's from the manipulations. What about doing float glass, maybe that would allow the bubbles to work out?

Making lenses for eye optics is fascinating... amazed how cheap modern prescription optics are, compared to the price of the frames!

I don't like sand... It's coarse, rough and gets everywhere.
