I think you have the right approach to teaching React. Other tutorials I've seen start by showing how the development environment is set up, then start explaining about JSX, etc, and the result is a rather confusing start, which leaves one wondering how this is all supposed to make web development easier. By starting by explaining about components first, it really helps everything make sense.

This was great! React kinda reminds me of what I started doing in vanilla JS, with functions that would return html code as a string and then I'd just insert that into the DOM lol, but this is much better. Can't wait to start using React! Thank you for the tutorial! <3

IMO best explanation of React and React Hooks. Until now I was never able to understand frontend frameworks because I never liked Javascript and couldn't understand what problem it was trying to solve when theoretically it was possible to do all this in vanilla Javascript. Plus, the official React documentation was rather complicated for an upcoming backend developer like me to understand. This video basically explained most of my questions in a very understandable way. Thank you Colt Steele for getting me out of React tutorial hell! :D

at 1:02:55, why does he use the `` (angled single quotes) wrapped around the alert message instead of the ' (single quote)? I got caught up on this as I was following along and couldn't get my name prop to display in the alert.
