Coronavirus UK: Museums warn of 'cultural bonfire'

Precious historical artefacts could be sold off as museums try to make up losses caused by cancelled and postponed exhibitions.

Many museums - like the Mary Rose Collection - receive little public funding and rely on visitor revenue to pay for on-going costs like preservation.

Even the Victoria and Albert Museum expects visitor numbers to fall after years of blockbuster exhibitions.
