Outstanding workaround! I'm an X devotee but this a feature that is so primary to editing it should be already available through the transitions supplied with the X download.

I really dislike FCP X for this reason. Why do we need so many workarounds for fundamental and basic editing functions? Apple didn't need to throw away everything from past years, and completely change editor terminology. Talking about libraries instead of projects, projects instead of timelines and exporting is nowadays "sharing"? The magnetic timeline as well only created more problems than it solved for me. There aren't even basic media management functions for proper archival purposes. The software annoys me to no end, but I'm getting by, one edit at a time...
