Hold the chain just above the weight when throwing you will improve on both distance and direction. Leave "swinging the lead" to ancient mariners.
Attach the weight via a screwlock oval carabiner, or similar = one rope, with multiple weight options / possibilities.
Get your foot loop spliced professionally at a climbing centre / boat chandler.
Neoprene gloves are better than fabric ones. Good kayaking ones are ideal.
Always dry the rope after can rot, and ultimately break, and squirrels don't like big weights landing on THEIR islands.
An old groundbait bucket is perfect for storing your gloves, weights and rope - makes carrying them to your peg easier too.

On my ice breaker I have a 5lb weight and about 4 metres 3mm wire cable instead of a chain. I find the wire cutter ice better with the small dia.with less effert like a fine saw

Break the smallest hole possible as water is warmer under the ice,
And a bean tin with a chain and lead is the best.

Ok, pytanie za 100pkt. Ciekawe czy po takim rzucaniu ciężarami jest szansa aby coś jeszcze złapać? Mimo wszystko trochę chalasu się narobi … czy nie było by łatwiej rzucić granat? 😂😂
