What happened with the geothermal energy? The Philippines used to be the 2nd biggest geothermal energy producer in the world but their position has been taken by Indonesia who is soon to take the US' as the biggest geothermal energy producer in the world. I always think Geothermal is better than the other alternatives like Solar and Wind, due to the fact it is reliable at every situation and wheather.

Edit: some people still think The Philippines is the 2nd biggest geothermal producer in the world while they had been overlapped by Indonesia since 2018.

Here the Top 3 geothermal countries year-end 2021 taken from thinkofgeoenergy:

United States* – 3, 722 MW – additional 24.8 MW were added in 2021 (and we updated our numbers as per the notes below)
Indonesia – 2, 276 MW – 143 MW were added in 2021 with the start of the 45 MW Sorik Marapi Unit 2 and the 98 MW Rantau Dedap plants.
Philippines – 1, 918 MW – no change reported

They should use the monthly storm as a power source... there must be a way to harness the storm.

Hydro power is still the best alternatives although expensive , downstream industries will have a great effect in the long run thats why they don’t want it for it will benefit more than the other alternative

should be done years ago, along with wind power. we are one of expensive electricity rates in the world despite poor/low incomes.

Solar reduces the land available for agriculture unless they build it out on the sea.

Personally I don’t like solar power plants since it will destroy large forest areas or eat-up large farmlands for the huge panel array’s. I would prefer solar panels for individual home and buildings only tied to the grid. For power plants should be geothermal or Nuclear for long term solutions.

Solar panel mega project and wind mill mega is good, but we have great potential for tiidal waves Energy in our pacific oceans espicially in eastern pacific, our Philippines Government shall consider as alternatives flat forms of Renewable Energy untouch.
