How I ranked top 10% in MRCP Part 1: My Study Strategy

In this video, I go through my revision strategy that helped me rank top 10% in MRCP Part 1 on my first attempt including the planning, study process, and my top tips for the most effective materials and methods. I discuss my favourite resources and platforms including Anki, mindmaps and questionbanks to give you an idea of the study process. I took this exam in the first available sitting as a UK foundation year 2 doctor and although it was a tough and encompassed lots of content, if you go in with a plan and can be consistent with your revision, it's definitely doable 🤓

Wow congratulations!
Few months back I started using Anki for the first time in my life but still now I can't understand how it should be used for clinical subjects. Can you make a tutorial on making Anki decks and share those that you made? TIA 😊

Really liked the idea of using a spreadsheet and central revision document to track your progress and keep you accountable - will be adding this to my exam revision technique in the future! Thanks for sharing with us :)

I appreciate you imparting the knowledge and enthusiasm Matt. I’ve few couples of subspecialties to revise before the exam and I was thinking about doing another Qbank(pastest), but at this point, I think it’s better to review what I’ve learnt. Love your video, great editing and tips and I’m looking forward to see more videos from you!

Amazing video! These study skills will be very helpful for my final year exam preparation!!! Will be pleased to see how u do Anki cards. Currently I’m using Notion app mainly for revision but I feel like Anki can be really helpful during last minute prep just to remember some of the difficult bits...Just a suggestion for your future videos : transition from med student to junior doctor in terms of lifestyle, studies and many more, things to know for new FY doctors! All the best! 😁🤩
