How Old is the Earth According to the Bible?

According to the book of Genesis, the earth is only about 6000 years old.

All right, everyone, here is 'the Real Truth' of which no one on Earth could possibly refute. Creation Week took place from March, Sunday the 19th through March, Saturday the 25th, 4001 B.C. [Gregorian solar calendar system]. As of March, Tuesday the 19th, A.D. 2024, Creation has been in existence for 6025 solar calendar years and seventeen (017) days.

Actually it leaves us with absolutely no clue. The first verse says the earth was already here when God began creating. The genealogies are incomplete and likely the ages of entire clans with unknowably large gaps. Adam isn't even for sure the first human male, and his creation took place after day 7.

The days should be treated as epochs or periods, not literal days ( e.g., "in the day of Noah"). The period corresponds logically to how life would form. Earth -> Water -> Plants -> Animals/Creatures -> Man. Fossils accounts also reflect this pattern. So it should not surprise you that dinosaurs existed before man came. Bible also does not say how long each period lasted and the story is about how man came to be because he's the main character in God's creation.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Now the earth was formless and desolate… notice that the earth was created along with the heavens. And that after some unspecified time, God gave special attention to the earth. Notice too that the earth which was already in existence, was formless and desolate. God then describes what we today would call terraforming the earth. He does it in stages. The days are not literal 24 hr days and the scripture that proves that is found at Genesis 2:4. It lumps all of the creative days into one day. Note how it reads: This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven. So note that the unspecified time including not only the creation of the earth but also the creation of the heavens is all lumped together into one day. So, when we read the word day, it is clearly speaking of something other than a 24 hr period of time. That allows a harmony between modern scientific discovery and what the Bible has been teaching all along. The earth is very old. Much older than 6000 years.

... so a day is the rotation on earth, thats 24 hours so one day on earth is 24 hours .. the earth wasn't created on erath is was created in the milky way which has a rotation of 238.4 million years so ... 7 days to the god the milky way would be 1, 668.8 million years ... more than enough time to creat life

This explanation is very poor.
In fact, the creation story uses the word "day" translated from the Hebrew word 'Yom'.
The word Yom means 'period of time', it therefore could mean billions of years as well as 'day'.

So the earth was created in 7 periods of time, thats all.
