Glad you discovered this. I'm almost 60 years old and my mother was making this when I was a kid. The only difference is she made the lemonade from scratch.

my grandma makes this, freezes it into ice cubes, then puts the “blue ice” into a drink she makes that has ginger ale and pineapple juice. it’s so good man

So we have always got the lemonade package to add to each flavor we bought. This method is so much better. Way less sugar.

I would take some of it, pour it in a paper or plastic cup, & then put it in the freezer. Then you have a "freeze cup". My grandmother use to make this back in the day (70s), where she would have us get the kool aid packets, & a 5lb bag of sugar. She would use her punch bowls to make the mixture, put it in the paper cups, & then freeze them. She would sell them to the people on the block for about 35 cents or 50 cents. Heck you could make a slushy too (blend your ice & pour the drink over it).

We in Jamaica have been doing our version of koolaid with lime or lemon long time ago glad you finally discovered that we even use grapefruit or seville oranges

We been doing this in Jamaica for years. My grandma and aunty would always say. Don’t forget to put lemon juice in the kool aid, it bring out the flavour ya hear. ❤
