Real fans were just happy to see him out there in the ring again, the man gave everything he had to wrestling and suffered through so much tragedy and heartbreak. Who cares if you couldn’t perform at the level he could? Doctors were saying he might not be able to walk again and yet he still made it out there and entertained us.

The disaster is people shitting on Bret despite the fact he did the best anyone could've asked taking into account his health issues.

Tom just casually dropping an hour+ long video on an awkward run in wrestling. Ya love to see it. This is genuinely something you could consider making a series out of in the New Year. Thanks to Cultaholic as always. Cheers.🥃

Disastrous or not, I got to see Bret Hart in the flesh at a 2010 live event and it was wonderful. The pop was ungodly.

I still can’t believe he tapped out to his own finisher in Montreal, you’d think he knew one reversal

It's quite funny, but in December 2009 I saw Bret at a small indie show here in Germany. It was a very personal atmosphere. I shook his hand and got his autograph. Just six months later everything had changed. I saw him again - this time with WWE. Same town, but the arena was ten times bigger. My personal highlight was when he put Chris Jericho in a sharpshooter that night. It felt kinda surreal to see this happening right in front of me.

Shout out to Tom for one hell of an effort here. All videos get edited, of course, but talking down the lens for 75 minutes is no mean feat. Well done, Campbell.

When i first moved to the USA from mexico city, bret was the first wrestler i ever saw . It was his match against the undertaker at summerslam 97 . We couldnt afford to go to events until much later on so while it wasnt a 5 star classic by any means, i saw him at wm 26 live and it was truly an honor to see the hitman live .

That run was forgivable considering everything Bret went through in life it was just good to see him back again. Even talking about the screwjob/1997 Bret is the last memeber of the Hart Foundation left 😢

This was fantastic. Tom did a hell of a job narrating a very awkward time for us, old wrestling fans seen our once beloved idol.

Bret vs. Vince from WrestleMania 26 may not have been a classic match but it was hilarious to watch 😆

This video only made me respect Bret Hart more. I was out of wrestling during this time. I've only heard the jokes and derision of the period. I've never heard this part of harts career taken from this perspective before. What a wonderful little surprise on New Year's day.

I quite enjoyed his appearances in 2010. As a 90s kid born outside North America, we didn't know too much about Bret Hart, so this era was really a lot of peoples first time experiencing this wrestling legend on our screens.

Yet another amazing documentary to round off Doc-cember from Cultaholic. Happy New Year to one and all, and thank you all for the incredible work!

BTW, I have both watched and read Lonesome Dove as well as Streets of Laredo. The reference was not lost on me.

Watching for the first time, this was legit how I was introduced to Bret Hart. When he got attacked by The Nexus and then joined John Cena's team. I had no idea how well respected and how much of a good wrestler Bret Hart was... 7 year old me just liked orange shirt super cena.

I think that the WrestleMania match was bad (poor booking).

But the rest of his run was, fine. Especially when you remember his health problems.

I work at Bret's restaurant in Calgary. He is a gem to talk to when he visits
