A gay character is bad enough when it retcons a decades old well established character but turning the whole show into pretty much a RuPaul wetdream is Warp 9 levels of dumb arrogance.
The sheer stupidity of pandering to people that have never and will never watch your show/movie while pissing on decades old loyal fans is the sad way our favorite franchises are being decimated these days.

I think I can sum this up easily.

As a regular human being my sexuality plays a really small part of my life and identity.

When actors come in with an agenda to make everything gay or to "camp it up" it's just so sad that they have nothing else to bring to the table apart from their sexuality and it just makes them less of a believable character in any show.
