I hope this answered some of your questions about the cost of living in a van 😊. Of course this varies for everyone. I’ve seen videos of Van lifers with a $500 monthly cost of living and some some with a $2, 500 monthly cost of living. There’s a lot of wiggle room in this lifestyle, in my opinion. Also, I did get health insurance at one job and never used it.

Thank you for watching ❤.

You're doing pretty good for spending under $1000 a month. If you were living in a traditional home, that won't even cover your monthly rent or mortgage. Great job. 👍 😊

In 1 year you will spend $1200 for the storage. You can sale the washer and dryer and save that money plus put the $99 a month each month in a high yield savings account and have more then enough money to purchase new appliances or new scratch and Dent appliances for less then what money you will save in a year. And your new appliances will be under manufacture warranty. BTW I am in the east coast as well.

You are a smart cookie. Sell that washer and dryer and get free medical from the state if you can.

@ 21:04 I'm a chip snacker. And recently found Lay's poppables sea salt hit the spot that Munchos craving I've had since I was a kid.
But they are so expensive.
So what I did was I started slicing potatoes thin, season them with garlic pepper, a little bit of sea salt, and I recently put a dash of cayenne and I put them in the air fryer!
I am in heaven!! I'm trying squash and zucchini right now in the air fryer.
I'm putting in diced Ginger to see what happens!
Kudos to you for such an inspiring channel!

1500 a month is just rent in NYC for a one bedroom or even a studio if you're lucky to find one that's decent and in a safe area... girl you're doing a great job saving! 💯

I found with big appliances it is better to sell them than to have to keep paying storage unit prices. Then when you get around to buying your home buy new ones.

Storage unit fees definitely can kill a budget. I kept one for almost 10 years. Luckily I had a dirt cheap one that started out at 35 a month and by the time I finally cleared it out in 2022 it was 70 a month. I know people paying around 200 a month. It was a bit painful to get rid of everything in it at first but now I can barely remember what I had so in the long run it wasn't important. The human connection to stuff is a bit weird and is still a struggle to avoid doing it all over again.

Hey, Monique! Did you ever consider an "E Book" with your recipes? I'm not a great, intuitive cook, but your recipes seem accessible, and I"m sure I"m not the only one who feels this way. Your recipes show that you can eat vegan, and still have delicious meals. How about it?! Another great video, look forward to them each Sunday. Have a super week, and thanks!!.

There is something called the sunk-cost fallacy. A lot of people who keep storage lockers do so for that reason. At $99 a month, how many months until you would be able to buy a new washer and dryer set?
