I don’t think the mark news is surprising. He’s actually a raw talent but needs some guidance

I just want Robinson in the rotation. Feed him reps to chew on each game. He's already fast. Wait until he reads plays pre-snap.

Don't forget Elandon Roberts was a 100+ tackle guy and a defensive captain. I gotta think that the expectation is for Roberts to start

I agree with everything you said I think he definitely shows flashes of being a solid contributor to that defense, I believe the more reps he gets the better he gets😁

I love Mark Robinson, agree with you on his comments... thought he should have been used more last year

Deke, I think the coach said that purely to challenge Mark Robinson. Light a fire under his butt so to speak.

Raw talent, great add for the rotation and to keep guys healthy. Same style so easy to scheme around with the guys we already have.

The Steelers probably has the most physical camp of all the other 31 teams. Because of that, they have to have some camp bodies, that may end up on the practice squad. Why not see what the brother has. Can't hurt.

Just a wild stoned thought but I wanna know what anyone thinks of this.

Besides Watt and Highsmith a lot of the LB group both inside and out are new to the tteam. What if at least to start the year its almost ILB2 by committee plugging in guys based on down and distance and formation. I think as a group we have a lot of guys that can create mismatches.

I agree with him down playing his role at this point of season. But we will see when the pads go on

Tbh I don’t think anyone expect Mark to be ready for this season….he’s a young raw guy who barely even saw the field last year….he’s got a ways to go before he’s ready.

On January 11, 2018, it was announced that Austin had been hired as the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals. [14] On November 12, 2018, Teryl Austin was relieved of his duties as defensive coordinator after the Bengals defense became the first in NFL history to give up 500+ yards in 3 straight games, against the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New Orleans Saints, respectively

Yo!! whats up with Tyson Alualu? Heard he's still out there but Steelers aren't sure if they'll give him a contract or not; since we brought in 4 people in the positiion.

Players listen when coaches speak to the media and its coach's job to light a fire under players that they think might need it. I think thats all thats going on here and i expect Robinson to make an impact this year for sure!

Robinson is a thumper. makes downhill tackles and is great in the run game. But, he is definitely super raw and needs more work covering TE's and WR's in the middle of the field. Hopefully he grows in the next season or two into a pretty good overall ILB.

Big difference between rotating and being a starter from the mental aspect. Robinson clearly has some of the tools necessary, but you have to be on a much higher level mentally if you’re THE guy.
