I have depression and it’s hard to even get up in the morning. However, when my family stepped up to help me and even suggested therapy, even though in our Asian culture mental health is not talked about, I knew I had to get better not just for them but for myself. It’s hard still, but knowing that the people who cherish and love you, are there is what makes me wake up every single day and live another day. So, I hope that whoever is feeling down or depressed reads this and know that you are not alone. Have a wonderful day everyone!😊

I can't begin to imagine how much pain you went through. I also lost my Family to illnesses. My mom died and then 18 months later my Dad passed away. My Dad barely weighed 100 pounds when he died. My Mom had emphysema and my dad as I said had cancer. Life can be and is brutal, vicious, and flat out nasty. I am so sorry for your loss and pain. No words can fix this situation. There are no magical phrases or comments. I lost a good friend to suicide and it tore me apart. Nobody ever knew why? She never left a note or any indication. She was usually one of the happiest and funniest people I knew. I knew her brother, we went to school together. This was one of the most difficult experiences I ever had to endure. But if was nothing compared to what her brother or parents had to go through. I pray she found the peace she wanted. I really miss her. She was someone special!

Lost my mother 3 years ago due to cancer. I was 15 at the time. Last year I joined a gym. Best decision I ever made. The people I work out with found out my story. I was 17. Some of them know how it feels because they lost their parents at young ages. I’m really close to them, especially the women. I consider them as mothers. They are teaching me lessons about growing up and being a lady. Things my mother would have shown me. The guys are my big brothers. Always messing with me but at the end of the day they love me. My gym friends are the reason why I’m still here today. Before joining the gym, I was depressed and anxious. I was considering of taking my own life. A daughter who loses her mother is a tragedy. As much as we think we can survive without our mother, we can’t. We need our mothers just like we need our fathers.
