left out: Caberet (Caberet), Getting to Know You (The King and I), Shall We Dance (The King and I), I Feel Pretty (West Side Story), Springtime For Hitler (The Producers), Do You Hear the People Sing (Les Mis), I Am What I Am (La Cage aux Folles), Yankee Doodle Dandy (Yankee Doodle Dandy), and that's just off the top of my head. I think you need to do another Top 50 catchiest songs from Classic Movie Musicals.

Interesting fact about the day they filmed "Singin' the Rain": Gene Kelly was suffering from the flu when he did it. He had a temperature of 103 degrees Fahrenheit. And he still allowed them to get him soaking wet when they filmed it. That's dedication!

I can’t believe “Do-Re-Mi” is so low in the list. That song is beyond iconic (more than some of the songs in the top 10, for which people can’t even name the relative musical), it deserves a spot in the top 5 if not top 3.

"Where's 'The Time Warp'???"

I think the song "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" and "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair", and "Marian" should at least get honorable mention.

I was so happy to realize that “Fiddler on the roof” was even on this list. Im only 14 but I grew up watching these old movies and this brought back so many memories

I grew up with the Julie Andrews movie musicals, and knew every song off by heart. "Spoonful of Sugar", "Feed the Birds" and "Do Re Mi" are definitely my favourites! 🎵❣️

“Time Warp” deserved to be in the list (and is, imho is a classic, ) but there could only be 20, so there you go. I think that “the sun will come out tomorrow” is more iconic in Annie, but that’s splitting hairs. I agree with the general consensus that “somewhere over the rainbow” and “rainbow connection” should be included. There’s just so many great songs from musicals, it’s hard to narrow them down

For me, born in '84 in Portugal and first exposed to "The Sound of Music" at a very young age (about 6/7), I can never forget that. It is so foundational to me. Everything about t was so amazing: the wonderful music and lyrics, learning about all the similarities and analogies between myself/my family and the von Trapps, learning about people outside my immediate proximity, learning English and how English could meld into wonderful melodies and English, learning about Austria and Germany and WWII (which I was to process over the course of many, many years) and everything together building an awareness that the World was much more wide than the immediate vicinity of my parents and my family and my town - all this melding with the riveting Music and song....

The US have truly made a huge contribution to Humanity, no matter how many problems they have (which have been under scrutiny in recent decades but really are the same that Humanity have always had). I'm thankful to all the creators that have made all this possible.

FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY Mary Poppins! When I was young some of the lyrics were hard to understand but through the years all those melodies and lyrics and situations in life were so remarkable to me. Not to mention, OMG, the animated characters are interacting with the real actors?? OMG THIS IS MAGICAL AND AWESOME!

EDIT: yep, in retrospect, I got a thing for the lovely Julie Andrews! And I'm, proud I do, too!

"Tomorrow" from ANNIE?! Everybody knows that one even if they're not a musical fanatic. Same goes for "I Feel Pretty" (given a mention here)

"It's hard to imagine a more fun time than tap dancing with Gene Kelly."

I'm pretty sure Debbie Reynolds could list a million more things more fun than that.

And Gene Kelly was sick with a cold or the flu when he did that "Singin' in the Rain" number. The man always gave his absolute best, no matter what. Thanks for this great clip reel! What fun to relive the joy of seeing and hearing these wonderful songs!

I think Feed The Birds from Marry Poppins should at least be on an honourable mention on this list. It’s a classic!
