For a while Massalia got itself its own little empire. Surprising in such a distant region from Greece

That was very cool. I live next the the old colony of Emporion, and while I knew it was a phocean colony, I ignored that was also under Massalian control for so long.

I've been working on time echoes for over a year, I'm still doing it and so far I've got three books out. From what I've seen, and what I think is important to communicate, is that the Massaliote Greek trading towns were subject to a major problem, which has been completely overlooked by history, and that is that the Côte d'Azur was subject in this era to the passage of tribes from the north-east, Italy, Germany, etc, during the winter period, in other words a migration phenomenon. Before working on the temporal echoes, I worked on an electromagnetic residual or phenomenon parallel to piezoelectricity in the Massaliote temples and fortifications. This automatically put me in orbit of the established archaeological world because I found a succession of walls, sometimes 7 to protect the cities. In fact, when you consider the scale of the migration southwards in winter by the so-called barbarian peoples, it's easy to understand why the Massaliotes needed so many walls to ensure their security.

People today be like: "british colonisers came up with the most unimaginable names for places, not like the ancient explorers of old"
Meanwhile, greeks from zakynthos colonising spain 2600 years ago: "ah yes, we're finally at zakynthos"

This is just delusional. I love the history of Massalia and Emporion but they never ever had that much control and they never occupied such big areas. You marked all catalan coast until the Ebro river and thats straight up false, Emporion and massalia never connected through land either, their controled and influenced territories were pretty much just the cities and tiny amounts of farmland around them.
