in terms of revolts you can actually set the culture of nations to ww2 in the state editor so when revolts happen it's only ww2 countries that generate.

sometimes map games like this need an ability to have economic development more concentrated or sparse in certain locations of the map. Otherwise you end up with superpower Greenland...

Fun fact the game can go until one Nation completely controls the entire world, however eventually uprisings happen and that superpower collapses. There was this one fantasy map I saw where this Kingdom controlled the entire world 4x in a row. They became a a single nation then uprising and rebellions happen and then they fall apart, then they make a comeback and control the entire world again for a few decades and then uprising and rebellions happened.
