I hope Gabe starts wearing some colors that spark joy!

I love that Allison talks about what's gender affirming for her and what makes her feel more feminine. Cis people do gender affirming things ALL the time and the bigoted ones act like it's nonsense when trans people do or talk about it. I know you weren't like, making a point about it but I've been in the wrong comment sections recently so I'm sort of riled up about it

What two beautiful souls. Watching you has been the best part of my day.
Gabe and Allison you're fab too.

this was cool hearing about fashion choices and gender and transitioning. i think, given that its over a month's worth of rent to completely overhaul clothes, that's one thing that local trans organizations near me try to help folks with, especially since sizing gets wild when your body is not the model that the clothes shapes are based on.

It's so interesting to see Gabe talk about this! I am also a trans guy and I feel pretty different, I always felt masculine and only dressed feminine to feel 'normal' as a girl. Now I feel so great dressing in a masculine way, I never knew what to wear before and now I have one type of outfit and I stick to it. I wear a dark tshirt, dark jeans, boots and a leather jacket lol. Never been happier

Wow. This video just healed something in me.

Your dynamic is what my sister and I had. I wasn’t able to be out and transition before she passed and I never got to have these conversations with her, but this is what it would have been. 100%. I’ve been living as a man for 6 years now and came to accept that…mostly, but this gave me a new peace with it. Feels like vicarious closure. Thank you, really.

I loved this conversation, especially hearing Allison talk a bit about her gender/presentation! Gabe's openness about his transition has been so meaningful, and I think it really heightens the conversation to acknowledge the ways gender and gender presentation show up for everyone -- not just trans folks

ya as a (gay) trans girl i feel the same way but opposite. like earlier in my transition i dressed more fem but now as i'm more comfortable with my gender and what it's read as i dress more masc

I’m a trans woman so I’m doing this in reverse. Although, there definitely is somewhat of a societal pressure to like not dress super fem all the time because people think “oh that’s just someone with a fetish”. Like, some people (assholes) will say “idk why they (all trans women) wear dresses all the time when most normal girls just wear tshirts and jeans.” So you kind of have to wear masc/andro clothes in a fem way? So I’ve kept a lot of boy clothes. It’s super tough at first but I’m (slowly) getting the hang of it.

Thank you for sharing, Gabe. Conversations like this are so important and I love being a part of them on this platform <3

Gabe, you should definitely start doing your nails again, and here’s why: my boyfriend loves doing his nails in all different colors, and he gets complimented on them literally everywhere we go. I’m a woman, and people rarely comment on my nails, I think because it’s more expected. But no joke, at the library, at the club, on a hike, at a wake (😂), everyone compliments his nails. It’s a real confidence booster :)

After coming out as non-binary, I tried really hard to give people clues not to adress me as a woman right away. So naturally, I went for "boring" masc clothes and hairstyle which sufficantly confuses people. I miss colour though.
I don't know when I'll be able to find my own style. Right now, I need clothes and hair to communicate "Don't adress me as a woman. Maybe ask about pronouns before just assuming."
It's not nessecarily what I want, more what I need.

For some reason I remembered you from the old BuzzFeed videos, I lost track of you guys ages ago, and I looked you up and I found the transition. I'm shocked but happy you guys are doing well.

As a nonbinary person who is playing with their masculinity more, I’ve found that sometimes heightening my feminine makes me feel more masculine, and vice versa, and it’s very comforting in a roundabout way 😂

Love this convo (as usual) and I feel like the queer wardrobe arc is so real. First changing everything to pass then wanting to be authentic and present as you and feeling like you have to negotiate the two. So here for Flared Gabe TM

I honestly think one good pair of flares could be all it takes for everything more 70s to fall into place !! Thrifting and vinted have a lot.
