Pineapple upside-down cake is a big favorite at our house. It hasn't been forgotten at all.

Making a cake with mayonnaise may seem weird, but it really isn't. If you think about what mayonnaise is made of, it consists of eggs and vegetable oil mixed together, and most cakes use cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil, so basically mayonnaise is already mixed for you.

I don’t know if something like it was made anywhere else, but Apple Stack Cake was a frugal way to use up on-hand ingredients. It’s from Appalachia where drying apples was common and cheap. It has to soak so the apples and cake have time to rehydrate.

I have lived in Wisconsin, Michigan and Texas. No shortage of German Chocolate Cake. Texas sheet cake was a Michigan staple at 1980s potlucks. Texas is still the home of the best Italian Cream Cake in the world, and it is a popular wedding cake.

😂Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake is the ONLY chocolate cake my mom made and she taught me to make. It’s the only chocolate cake my family has loved! Hands down it’s simple, absolutely delicious and always being kid safe to lick the bowl!
