Great news John. Went to the Royal Orthopaedic hospital in Birmingham for a CMC steroid injection in theatre, I had to be admitted and was put on a ward. Fabulous team and all went well. However the best bit, the wards had windows and, these windows were open, admittedly you couldn’t open them wide but you could open them yourself should you wish to. On asking the nurses, doctors etc about ventilation, they replied that the windows are opened by staff and the patient can close them if they do desire, but they have them open by default during the day.

"As always thanks for watching". As always, Dr John Campbell, thank you for your video. I just wish you could have a small spot on mainstream TV. I'm sure if a lot more of the general public could hear what you have to say things would be much better and brighter.

Hi John, I noticed your mood dropping over the last few videos. Not unsurprising, please do not loose sight of the enormous positive impact you are having. Educating people on mask wearing, good nutrition, social distancing and good hygiene is powerful and positive. The message that “things are bad but here are some things that you can do about it” brings hope to many.

I think the UK police need to follow the lead of their French colleagues and start to look into the handling of this pandemic. Not only has the government failed in it's duty of care to it's citizens but there is an increasing stench coming from some of the financial dealings. Huge, no, make that colossal amounts of public money is being dished out usually with no sort of accountability to various " aquaintances" of the government. A minister and an MP have just allocated hardship funds to each others constituencies even though neither is a designated hardship area. The debacle over the trace and test disater certainly needs looking into, the amount of money sloshing about there is staggering. Sadly this is the UK and the police rarely dare tackle the high and mighty. Keep your head down and wait for a gong down the line. There's something rotten etc as Shakespeare would have said.

In the UK we have planes coming in from lots of countries and passengers are supposed to self isolate, without control I bet they don’t. The data from Japan showed how tight control on people coming in can pay dividends.

It's going to run its course. We humans are not going to be in control of this one.

Well we are trying to do our bit Mr Campbell! My husband is self isolating at moment as he and all the others in the factory worked with someone who tested positive. He company have covered it all up as track and trace failed and are trying to penalise him for doing what he is right. Everyone else has returned to work regardless but he's stood his ground. We have report the situation to everyone but no help. Just thought I'd update you.

Leaders of different areas are giving advice because the government's official advice frankly makes no sense whatsoever.

In my opinion localised lockdown works when you have localised outbreaks AND if you can isolate the locked down areas. The problem in Europe is that the virus is basically everywhere and localised lockdowns never include solid, enforced restrictions on movement.

my brother is a paramedic in Newtownards Northern Ireland and they are completely slaughtered people do not realise the risks they need to abide by the government and the government needs to come up with more funding especially for paramedics waiting on our for an ambulance, with another health add to the total number of deaths above covid-19.
You're a very clever man I wish everybody would listen to. Just wanted to say thank you Ian.

I'm English, living in Scotland. One thing I've noticed, more from those living in England, is finding ways to bend the rules & guidelines in order to allow them to carry on leading their lives with minimal disruption. They will argue loopholes and how they are special and able to circumvent rules and how it doesn't apply to them. Seems to be a mix of culture, generation and class issues.

My neighbor had a 2 day graduation party and had about 50 people from 5 different states. I’m sure they spread the virus all over. I still can’t believe people still have big parties and big weddings indoors.

I always said that it was a mistake introducing political mayors in various cities. We managed perfectly well before that. Nothing to do with party politics, it just adds yet another layer of government that was never needed. Every mayor has gone for political grandstanding at some point, whatever party ticket they were elected on. It doesn't help matters at the best of time but least of all now.
