It's so incredibly frustrating when close minded people say I'm weak minded or spineless if I'm willing to change my mind if the facts change, or new facts are uncovered. Standing up for an ideal despite finding out it's wrong is... well, it's unstoic for me to say! 😆

Sir,
I find your writing informative and well written regarding Stoicism and application to life. I even have shared with three on my children. Nevertheless, I kindly disagree with a statement in 2/3/2022 Daily Stoic email. You implied that conservatives are cold/unemotional/uncaring. It is my position that conservatives care about actual outcomes not just feel-good policies that have terrible secondary effects. Current research shows that conservatives give more to charities and have less mental health issues. It may be that experience teaches one not to keep making the same mistake and expect a different outcome. Maybe conservatives actually learn from the past and actually want to help better society. There is a fundamental difference between how the left/collectivists and conservatives view things: the left views things at a society or group level whereas conservatives view things at the individual level. Neither position is wrong but instead different ways to approach a problem. (I do not use the term liberal to describe the left of today. Classical liberalism is very much different from the collectivist left.) In any event, keep up the good work and I will continue to enjoy your thoughts and insights.
