Duarte is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is bounded to the north by the San Gabriel Mountains, to the north and west by the cities of Bradbury and Monrovia, to the south by the city of Irwindale, and to the east by the cities of Irwindale and Azusa.
Duarte is located on historic U.S. Route 66 which today follows Huntington Drive through the middle of the city. The town holds an annual Salute to Route 66 Parade on the third weekend in September on Huntington Drive.
Duarte's history with Europeans dates back to 1769, when all land in California was claimed by the king of Spain.
Azusa is a city in the San Gabriel Valley, at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Azusa is located along historic Route 66, which passes through the city on Foothill Boulevard and Alosta Avenue.

The A on the San Gabriel Mountains represents the city of Azusa and can be seen within a 30-mile radius.
"Azusa stands for everything from A to Z in the U.S.A." has been a phrase used to promote the city by organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce for many years. The city is located at the entrance to the San Gabriel Canyon, giving the city its nickname "The Canyon City." It is on the east side of the San Gabriel River.
