Repairing a Lenovo Legion hinge. The same hinge is used on many other Lenovo's like the L and T series laptops.

There are other videos on similar fixes but this method is least trouble - using the clamp with temporary glue (I used superglue) is very good as it gives a good base on which to place the epoxy afterwards. - it's holding for me so far - will use it again if needed - laptop is about 2 years old so hopefully will keep it going until upgrading in future

I blame myself for opening the lid from the left side only, and I see now that over time this stressed the mechanism on the right. I was concerned about this since it broke yesterday and so grateful to find your helpful video. Have some hope now! (I have the Lenovo 7i and paid 1, 600CHF for it 2 years ago)

Might try this after having the hinge come off a second time. My permanent solution though will be avoiding Lenovo products.

I have lenovo IP 5 and the right side hinge broke off after 9 months, warranty is a joke, told me they don't cover it... the hinge is plastic and there is no way to fix it( it fell out with the screw) .... much cheaper design and now i can't ever close it...very poor hinges on this thing.

I work for a small company that rents out these laptops, our purchasing manager doesn't necessarily read all the reviews, and we've had over half of our laptops bust hinges in just over a year. One of them Lenovo said broke the motherboard (how?) so it would be hundreds to repair. Would not recommend, very poor quality.

This method doesn't apply to Lenovo Legion 7i non slim version. I've tried this method and during removing the screen bezel I damaged my screen. The repair was costly. The hinge itself would be a lot cheaper. The repair guy told me that my laptop cannot be disassembled like shown in the video.

My second Lenovo and the same fault, never again this brand. Seems all models made after 2010 are cheap garbage.

A few questions. Is your epoxy sticking to the plastic bezel after this repair? I do want to be able to remove the bezel later in case I need to fix another hinge or replace the screen. Also, why did you choose to use super glue under the hinge? Is epoxy there a bad choice? Did the repair hold up? I plan to attempt this repair this weekend. Thanks for the video!

did you epoxy part of the screen too? Sure looked like it.

I had this happen to me about 2 years ago, and it was covered under warrenty, back then I searched aruond if this was a common problem but couldn't really find anything (or I didn't look hard enough) now my laptop is out of warrenty and I got the feeling the hinge is around to break the exact same way again. it's kinda pathetic that this is what it has come to legit gluing the hinge back, come on fix your shit lenovo...

Thanks for this video, but can I ask you if the problem is more with the hinge mechanism, I mean if I applied some oil or hinge lubricants to bring to the hinge more mobility you think can work?

Useful video, thank you.
Tried but it's not holding. The touchscreen is going berserk, mouse keeps jumping all over the screen. Do you know how to disable the touchscreen?

How did you open the laptop cover. At the beginning of the video you say it’s not good and the video cuts. Did you just open it or did anything specific to protect it from breaking?

my lenovo idea pad 5 hinge is falling apart, so should i use silicon to glue it together? and the side plastic thing is kinda broken to

I am debating on whether I want to wait for my Slim 7 X hinge to break or if I want to pull it apart and use some serious epoxy between the binge mounting tab and the rear metal panel before it inevitably does break so I don't have to treat it like it's constantly going to break.
