(when i think about computer viruses, i'm reminded of oldies like ILOVEYOU and such. they just don't make viruses fun anymore.... they just grab info and run off!! no pikachu to say that i'm its best friend!)

The words "computer virus" make me think of the promotional videos that were on the CD of Norton antivirus, and how proud i was for Symantec keeping me safe.
I was easily impressed at age 9.

When I hear Computer Virus, I'm always reminded of this one animated pop-up I got when I infected the family pc as a young lad. It was of a man sitting behind his pc, where a worm would slither across his monitor, only to crawl out and bite half of his head off. I remember vividly that his eye fell into the gaping wound in a cartoony fashion, but I really did think it was scary at the time. I wonder if any record of that animation is still out there somewhere

Hey Danooct1, thanks for all those years. You were one of my first youtube subscriptions back in 2010-whatever. Now that I think about it, your educational (no kidding) vids have helped me a lot during my IT career, and they still do (in-joke intended).
Several things come up when I think about computer viruses - BSODs galore (CIH), the infamous heart attack-inducing Kaspersky threat notifications (taken from Warcraft 2 AFAIK), and finally ransomware.

I think of Computer Virus, I think of all the times I accidentally infected the family computer as a kid. Definitely shaped me up to be very wary of computer security in general though!

When I hear “computer virus” my first thought is always You Are An Idiot or ILOVEYOU, they’re just too iconic to NOT think of them immediately

When I hear "computer virus, " I think of pop-ups and fake programs. That and the occasional variation of "a virus has been detected" from whatever antivirus is on the computer. 2000s, Windows 2000/XP era-type stuff.

As for what pops up in my mind, this is probably an unconventional answer but I always think of 3D polygonal viruses crawling around inside a computer, because as a kid I once watched an animated video explaining the different basic types of malware, and that's how they looked in it LOL.
