The Lagos Nigeria railway train stands as a beacon of modern transportation infrastructure not just within the African continent but on a global scale. Its inception marked a significant milestone in Nigeria's efforts towards improving public transportation and fostering economic growth. With its first stage covering over 30 kilometers of overhead rail across the vibrant city, it offers commuters a unique and unparalleled experience.

One of the standout features of the Lagos railway train is its innovative design, incorporating an overhead rail system that not only efficiently utilizes space but also provides commuters with a breathtaking view of the cityscape. As passengers glide through the bustling metropolis, they are treated to panoramic vistas of Lagos, a city renowned for its rich cultural tapestry, dynamic skyline, and bustling streets.

The overhead rail system not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of the transportation network but also serves a practical purpose by minimizing traffic congestion on the city's already congested roads. Commuters no longer have to contend with the frustrations of gridlock traffic, as the railway train offers a swift and reliable alternative for traversing the urban landscape.

Beyond its functionality, the Lagos railway train is a testament to Nigeria's commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation. By promoting mass transit, the railway system helps to reduce carbon emissions and alleviate the environmental impact of traditional modes of transportation such as cars and buses. This commitment to sustainability underscores Nigeria's proactive approach towards addressing climate change and promoting eco-friendly initiatives.

Funny thing is, the railway should've been over 2 decades ago when the current president of nigeria was fomerly lagos state governor, buh the then president disapproved claiming only federal government can build railways

They need to keep expanding and build subway lines too. Rail transit will help clear up a lot of congestion

Lagos needs more housing infrastructure. A city with that population would need more affordable high rises for the lower and middle class. Nigeria's cities should have more high rises. It is suitable for the population. Rather than spread out as slums it would be more organized if they live on high rises..Sadly the only tall buildings are offices and hotels which isn't a good planning within the city center. A lot of work is needed. China and India have a lot of land. They even have the common sense to build affordable high rises wirthin their city centers like Mumbai and Shanghai. Nigerias land is small and the population is growing exponentially. Sadly the leaders dont have the slightest clue to understand that the solution is to build high rises to contain the population in the smallest state and largest city like lagos.
Nairobi in Kenya and Luanda Angola are far more developed by housing infrastructure compared the the many slums in Lagos.

I think this is a promotional video painting a deliberately rosy picture. According to Wikipedia the entire system so far consists of 2 lines with 22 stations. OK, one has to start somewhere and hopefully Lagos will eventually get a rapid transit system worthy of its size.

The strange thing is that the lagos govt can build railways yet cannot supply 24hours light to its citizens. What a misplaced priority
